Takema Keyes is a dedicated School and Community Engagement Advocate (SCEA) with a proven track record of advocating for students and families in Southern Prince George’s County and Washington, DC. With a strong foundation in social work and community leadership, she has made significant contributions through case management, program development, and resource mobilization to support vulnerable populations.

Takema holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Bennett College (2018) and a Master of Social Work from Howard University (2021). While at Howard University School of Social Work. Her experience spans several critical roles, including junior policy analyst, crisis counselor, and program assistant, where she gained invaluable insights into the intersection of policy, education, and community development.

As a community leader, Takema has consistently demonstrated a passion for service. She founded Nourish and Flourish, a community initiative focused on providing essential resources such as food and support services to underserved populations. Through this and other collaborative efforts, she has partnered with local organizations to uplift her community and create a lasting positive impact.

Beyond her professional achievements, Takema is deeply committed to mentoring youth and engaging in civic engagement. She is a staunch advocate for mental health, recognizing its far-reaching impact on individuals and communities alike. Takema believes that addressing mental health is not only a personal concern but a societal imperative that should be prioritized at every level of leadership.
