Juanita Beltran was born and raised in the District of Columbia where she developed a deep sense of pride for her Washingtonian identity. Her three decades of property management experience combined with her resilience as a three-time cancer survivor illustrates her dedication and perseverance. Juanita’s life mission to serve her community has been sustained by her role as a dedicated mother of two and active member of Saint John’s Church.
Since her election in 2022 as the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for 8B07 Juanita has dedicated herself to serving her constituents with strong integrity and a profound sense of responsibility. In November 2024 she secured a second term and maintained her dedication to her community by advocating for her neighbors and addressing their needs.
Key Accomplishments as Commissioner:
Collaborated with DC Water to finish capstone repair work.
To improve local infrastructure she performed safety walks alongside DDOT staff.
DPS and I collaborated to remove debris from Stanton Road SE.
Worked alongside DOB and Ward 8 families to oppose illegal development projects.
The Black Nurses Rock DC Chapter received support from this initiative which delivered essential resources to Ward 8.
Collaborated with Saint John’s Church to organize toy drives and various community events.
Community Involvement and Volunteer Work:
The Salvation Army benefits from my consistent volunteer support through coat drives, Angel Tree programs and Christmas events.
My volunteer work included organizing food drive events in collaboration with the Capital Area Food Bank.
Quarterly clothing donations were given to Mary’s Center, Goodwill, and Pick Up Please in support of veterans.
Juanita’s deep-rooted dedication to her community works hand in hand with her talent for transforming obstacles into possibilities which makes her leadership both powerful and kind-hearted. She works tirelessly to generate positive development in Ward 8 while making certain that every resident participates in decision-making processes.
