On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 8B held its regularly scheduled monthly public meeting. During this meeting, the Commission welcomed representatives from Minerva Vision Group, a well-regarded organization known for its extensive work supporting families, leading housing initiatives, and driving community-focused projects across the city.
Minerva Vision Group delivered a presentation to the community outlining their vision for a proposed Community Center located at 2430 Ainger Place SE, situated within Single Member District 8B01. Their proposal includes a zoning change from its current designation as a place of worship to a community center aimed at expanding access to supportive services for local residents.
After hearing the presentation and engaging in discussion, Commissioner Takema Keyes made a motion for the Commission to issue a letter of support for the zoning change. The motion was approved unanimously by the Commission.
We appreciate the efforts of Minerva Vision Group and look forward to the positive impact this Community Center will bring to Ward 8.
